Unverferth Manufacturing Co. introduces larger 30- to 40-foot working width models of its rugged and reliable Perfecta field cultivator. The Perfecta combines tillage, leveling and finishing actions all in one tool for one-pass row crop planting.
The new wider models feature 6 × 4-foot front frame tubing with a trussed mainframe design for added durability. The new sizes also feature a floating wing design that automatically raises 15 degrees and lowers 5 degrees for easily following field contours.
Three rows of staggered, high-clearance S-tines provide the main tillage action up to 6 inches deep with three S-tine choices of models 10, 12 and 14. The Perfecta model 10 features standard 1¼-inch by ½-inch S-tines with 2¾-inch goosefoot shovels for effective soil finishing in previously worked soils. The model 12 is equipped with 1¾ inch by ½ -inch heavy-duty S-tines with 4-inch sweeps for effective penetration in heavier, unworked soils and rocky conditions. Heavy-duty, edge-bent S-tines are standard on the model 14. Edge-bent tines feature 7-inch sweeps for working in the toughest soils for maximum tillage and consistent depth.
The tool-free adjustable leveling bar breaks clods and levels the soil and is fitted with a choice of spike teeth or diagonal round teeth. The 12-inch diameter rolling harrow baskets complete the process by further mixing, leveling and knocking soil from weed roots to leave them on the soil surface to die. Standard gauge wheels feature tool-free adjustability for consistent working depth across the machine’s width.
With the wider Perfecta models, growers can cover more acres in a day, saving fuel and time by tilling, leveling and finishing in a single pass. In addition to row crops, the Perfecta tillage tool is also useful for driveway and arena maintenance and vegetable production with bedded crop models. The high-gloss, powder-coat color finishes of tractor red or green help resist corrosion. An optional transport light package provides enhanced safety when traveling on public roadways.
