The Saskatchewan government is taking another step to getting out of the potato business.

It announced it is close to selling three of its potato storages. Cavendish Farms of Prince Edward Island, Can, is apparently negotiating for the purchase of two of the units.

An investor group will buy the third. Two other sheds were sold last December.

The sale of the storages, owned by Saskatchewan Valley Potato Corp., are expected to result in a net gain for the province of about C$5 million.
