Acreage in Colorado will be up this year, according to the Colorado Potato Administrative Committee bulletin.

Wayne Thompson reports that more than last year’s 68,000 acres will be planted. But, Thompson wonders if water will be a factor in production.

Thompson said the late spring snow storms didn’t occur this year in southern Colorado and lack of water is a major concern.

He also said the area had experienced big wind storms, coming out of the southwest, which were frightening.
