Effective May 1, Brent Byers will assume the position of senior manager of strategic planning and business development for Nichino America, Inc. He will manage the strategic planning process and will be responsible for the licensing businesses for Nichino America. This role supports efforts throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

In this role, Byers will coordinate the ongoing development of the strategic plan for the company and third-party relationships for both in-licensing and out-licensing opportunities.

“Brent’s varied background in sales, marketing and logistics in the crop protection sector will bring tremendous value to our licensing and planning initiatives,” says Dustin Simmons, Nichino America’s director of strategic planning and business development.

Byers joined Nichino America in 2019 as regional sales manager responsible for the direction and coordination of the U.S. eastern sales team. In this role, he successfully managed the implementation and execution of the team’s sales plan and led the channel development strategy for key account customer activity and distribution partners in the east region.

Byers comes from a diverse background in global agriculture. He holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from North Carolina State University and a master’s of global management from Arizona State University. During his career, Byers has worked in marketing, sales, procurement and production management within the agrochemical industry; international commodities trade; and fresh produce farming operations. He is also an accomplished entrepreneur in the U.S. and Northern Latin America, and is fluent in Spanish.
