Vive Crop Protection announces that David Rummel has joined the leadership team as vice president of business development, and existing leadership team member Jeffrey Buchholz has been promoted to general counsel.

Rummel will be responsible for developing key partnerships with other agrochemical and biological manufacturers to increase the availability of Vive Crop Protection’s patented Allosperse technology in the U.S. and global marketplaces. He will also be responsible for in-licensing new chemical and biological active ingredients that Vive will add to its existing branded product portfolio.

Rummel has 24 years of experience in the crop protection industry, including business development, strategic sourcing, portfolio management and marketing roles at ADAMA and Monsanto. Most recently, he was the North American head of business development and strategic sourcing and a member of the executive team at ADAMA. He is currently completing his MBA at Webster University and holds a bachelor’s degree in business and finance from the University of Wisconsin and an associate’s degree in production agriculture and dairy from the University of Minnesota

“Our industry is under heightened regulatory pressure, and this usually equates to fewer choices for the farmer,” says Rummel. “I see Vive’s technology playing a role in maintaining some of these traditional choices by enhancing sustainability and enabling higher efficacy for newer solutions, such as biologicals. With the adaptability of Vive’s technology for various uses, it will have a significant impact on how crop protection will be delivered in the future.”

Jeffrey Buchholz joined Vive Crop Protection in 2013 and became part of the Vive leadership team in 2017 as senior counsel. With his promotion to general counsel, he will lead all compliance, regulatory and legal functions at Vive.

“David and Jeff are key to Vive’s continued growth strategy,” says Vive CEO Darren Anderson. “David brings high-level experience in the ag marketplace that will help position Vive and the Allosperse technology for exponential growth in this and coming years. Jeff has been a critical part of our leadership team and will enable us to continue moving forward with current and upcoming technology platforms.”

Vive products contain the Allosperse Delivery System, a technology that allows chemicals that were previously incompatible to be mixed with liquid fertilizer and applied at the right time for maximum benefit to the crop. It also saves farmers time and money by reducing a pass over the field.
