The importance of organic production in the U.S. continues to rise, with total sales of organic products in 2019 hitting $55 billion. Currently, the U.S. is the biggest global market for organic products (No. 2 is Germany, No. 3 France).

To meet this growing market demand, GROPRO Corp., a U.S.-based producer and supplier of biopesticides and biofertilizers, has been approved for six OMRI (Organic Materials Review Institute) listed materials. With these certifications, GROPRO brings a wide and effective portfolio into the organic agricultural market.

With GROPRO materials focusing on nematicides (Vigilance), fungicides (biofungicide Zayin), sporicide/bacteriacide (Reckoning), insecticides (bioinsecticide Wrath), mosquitos (Skeeter), and gastropods (Stomp), farmers have products that will provide active control and residual actions. This line will provide growers with the efficacy that they have been wanting in an organic IPM program.

One of GROPRO’s flagship products is Vigilance nematicide, which protects potato roots but also adds no stress to the whole plant. Trials show that potato plants treated with Vigilance are visibly healthier above the ground and have no evidence of stress after treatments.

According to data from the Organic Trade Association, organic fruit and vegetable sales in 2019 were up by about 5 percent (to $18 billion), and organic fruits and vegetables (fresh, frozen, canned and dried) now account for about 15 percent of the U.S. fruit and vegetable market.

“We are excited to provide organic farmers with our unique and effective portfolio of new-generation biopesticides and biofertilizers, ensuring they can develop their important businesses successfully,” says said James Ronan, CEO of GROPRO.
