Potatoes USA is hosting an International Seed Symposium event on Monday, Aug. 5, at The Jacquard Hotel in Denver, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and group dinner. There is a Seed Task Force meeting on the morning of Tuesday, August 6, 8:00–10:30am to discuss Potatoes USA’s international seed potato promotion program.
Potatoes USA has invited 33 foreign growers from 12 countries to attend:
- Current importing countries: Burkina Faso, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Nicaragua, Senegal, Uruguay
- Target markets: Guatemala, Morocco, Myanmar
- Potential new markets: Bangladesh, Cuba, Egypt

U.S. seed growers are eligible for a 50 percent reimbursement for your travel costs if you request it by submitting your receipts. (For example, Potatoes USA will reimburse you $90.50 per hotel night if you paid the rate noted above and 50 percent of your airfare cost.)
