Tong Engineering, a UK manufacturer of advanced potato and vegetable handling equipment, announces international expansion with the opening of a new Tong USA spares, service and sales facility based in Fremont, Mich.
This latest venture comes as part of the company’s wider export strategy and will make Tong’s complete range of equipment—from vegetable intake hoppers, dirt eliminators, chain sizers, washers and bin fillers—even more accessible to the U.S. potato and vegetable industry.
“We have been doing business in the U.S. for many years,” says Edward Tong, managing director at Tong Engineering. “However, over the last couple of years, business in the U.S. has significantly increased, meaning more frequent visits, visiting customers and exhibiting at U.S. potato and vegetable events.
“With this in mind, alongside the potential to better service and expand our business in the U.S.A, we felt it was now time to have a physical presence in the market,” Tong continues. “We are very pleased to announce the opening of the dedicated new Tong USA facility, cementing our commitment to the market.”
The new Tong USA office in Michigan will provide additional support to Tong’s American customers—strengthening spares and service backup with a wide range of spare parts available with a quick turnaround when they are needed the most.
“The Fremont-based office brings us a place to meet with customers who operate locally, and a base from which we will continue to visit our customers located all over the USA,” Tong says. “The new Tong USA office team will also be on hand at the office to take care of sales, spares and service enquiries for all U.S. customers.”
