Shawn D. Boyle was recently selected to serve as president of the Idaho Grower Shippers Association. He will be joining the IGSA full-time in early February.

Boyle brings to IGSA an impressive resume developed in the heart of potato country. Shawn was born and raised in Shelley, Idaho. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Brigham Young University-Idaho and a law degree from the University of Idaho.

For the last five years, as a licensed attorney, Boyle has independently managed the in-house legal affairs of multiple companies in the petroleum, transportation and farming industries, including Brad Hall & Associates, Inc., one of the largest petroleum wholesale distributors in the western U.S. Through that experience, he has developed a strong understanding of the challenges affecting Idaho businesses operating in a national and global economy.

During the 2011 Idaho state legislative session, Boyle served as an extern for the Senate majority leadership. In this capacity, he was able to go behind the scenes and witness the internal workings of the legislative body. He looks forward to serving as an advocate for the potato industry both in Idaho and in Washington, D.C.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Boyle enjoys coaching youth sports teams, participating in triathlons, and teaching his three kids the secrets of gardening.
