MORE MEXICO SUPERMARKETS SEEKING U.S. POTATOES

U.S. table-stock potato exports to Mexico reached record quantities of 56,127 MT in 2009, valued at over $24 million. The USPB is working with retailers in the border region so this figure will continue to grow. In response to high prices for Mexican potatoes, the supermarket chain Centros Comerciales del Norte, in Nuevo Laredo, has started importing U.S. table-stock potatoes for the first time.
