Bayer CropScience AG, one of the world's leading companies in the areas of crop protection, seeds and biotechnology, is adopting a new organizational structure effective July 1.

This follows the successful integration of Aventis CropScience so that Bayer can streamline structures and enhance market requirements, Professor Friedrich Berschauer, chairman of the Board of Management of the Bayer subgroup explained.

"We're going for a leaner organization, optimizing our strategic and operational decision-making, and redefining responsibilities," he said.

Besides a scale down or executives and management, Bayer's activities in 120 countries will be organized into three regions (currently five): Americas, Europe and TAMECIS (Turkey, Africa, Middle East, Commonwealth of Independent States), and Asia Pacific.
