Tong Engineering has announced a number of key new appointments as part of an ongoing commitment to its growing customer base.

“As our equipment advances, we have an increasing number of projects that require dedicated project management due to their scale or complexity,” says Edward Tong, the company’s managing director. “With this in mind, we have expanded our project management team in order to maintain the very best customer service, support and attention to detail at every stage of the production process.”

Dave Clarke joins the team with over 23 years of experience in mechanical and electrical engineering, having held roles for manufacturers and end-user companies in the automation, robotics and food industries. Since joining Tong in 2015, Clarke has been responsible for all aspects of electrical design and support, overseeing several large-scale Tong project installations.

“My growing involvement with our more complex projects meant a move into a more dedicated project management role was a natural step for me,” says Clarke. “I am excited to join the project management team within such an established company that retains family values of integrity, loyalty and reliability at its heart. Having worked across several departments at Tong, my new role brings the opportunity to work even closer with customers to ensure we continue to provide advanced handling solutions that exceed their expectations.”

Tong has also recently appointed Elliot Stones within the growing project management team. Stones began his engineering career after earning his degree in industrial design and manufacture from Loughborough University. He joined Tong’s design department in 2013, working on 3D design and product development, before increasing his relations with Tong customers at the technical design stage.

“Innovative design and site-based project management can be critical to delivering projects that bring real efficiencies, on time and within budget,” says Stones. “As a project management team, we take pride in understanding our customer’s requirements to the finest detail, and ensuring the smooth-running of each project, with minimal disruption to current processes.”

“Our vision is to work together with our customers to build progressive solutions and dependable partnerships,” added Edward. “I am very pleased to have Dave and Elliot on board the projects team; the new structure ensures that at every step of the way, Tong customers have a dedicated contact on hand,” adds Tong.
