UnitedAg, a member-owned agricultural trade association representing more than 650 organizations in California and Arizona, announced last week that Daniel Nelson, vice president and chief business officer for Watsonville, Calif.-based Plant Sciences, Inc. (PSI), a global agricultural research and consulting company, has been elected to the association’s board of directors. He becomes the seventh agribusiness leader currently serving on the UnitedAg Board.

“Daniel was raised in the California agricultural community and understands our industry, its challenges and opportunities, quite literally from the ground up,” says UnitedAg board chairman Anthony Vollering, CEO of GrowLink, Inc. “His deep commitment to the ag community, broad business and scientific knowledge of our industry, and extensive experience with national and international agribusiness clients, make Daniel an outstanding addition to the UnitedAg board of directors.”

“I’m pleased and honored to join the UnitedAg Board and look forward to working with my fellow directors and the organization’s executive leadership and staff to achieve UnitedAg’s goals aimed at advancing the health, education, advocacy and future of our industry,” says Nelson.

In addition to Vollering, Nelson joins the following other members on UnitedAg’s board: Aaron “A.J.” Cisney, general manager for Rancho Guadalupe, LLC; Veronica Urzua, treasurer, senior director of human resources and risk management for Pacific International Marketing; Les Graulich, CFO and secretary/treasurer for Plantel Nurseries, Inc.; Jerry Pogorzelski, CFO of Saticoy Lemon Association; and Raul Solis, a human resources professional with Moody Western Cooling.
