Potato grower and processor Farm Frites is launching its new Extra fries, a range to satisfy the demand for crispy, coated, tasty fries with greater heat retention. The Extra range was launched to help operators turn around consistently crispy fries that stay hotter for longer.

The range is available in 7mm, 10mm, 12mm and 15mm cut sizes to offer delicious flavors in a range of sizes, and all with the perfect crunch. Extra also features a 10mm skin-on fry for more rustic menus or for more variety with a classic cut size. Extra has an allergen-free coating which creates the perfect crunch while supporting operators with the need to cater for consumers with special dietary requirements. Extra fries are pre-fried in 100 percent sunflower oil.

“Extra is the fry that operators can rely on for taste, texture and heat retention. This is paramount in fast food outlets,” says Nic Townsend, Farm Frites’ marketing manager for the UK and Ireland. “Consumers expect hot fries when served and for that heat to remain while they eat their meal. This range is well-suited to casual, fast casual and carryout menus as well as being ideal for hotel buffets where products need to stay tasting their best [for longer periods of time].

“Extra offers a wide choice of thicknesses as well as a skin-on option so that fast casual operators can offer a variety of cut sizes from one range,” Townsend continues. “We know how important it is to create consistency in a chip offering and have launched Extra to satisfy the requirement for skinny to extra chunky without moving outside of a range they trust.”
