McCain to Expand Fry Production

McCain Foods Limited will expand its production capacity for frozen french fries in North America. This investment is expected to add over 400 million pounds of capacity to the company’s current production. McCain is currently evaluating options in both the U.S. and Canada, with final site selection to be based on a number of investment considerations. McCain expects to make an announcement in the coming months to identify the location selected for expansion.

This expanded capacity will follow investments in specialty potato capacity at McCain’s facility in Plover, Wis. The company also recently announced a $65 million investment in its facility in Florenceville, New Brunswick, increasing its capacity there by over 100 million pounds of specialty potato products.
