Weed Tour to be Held at Malheur Experiment Station

The 2015 Malheur Weed Tour will be held June 11 at the Malheur Experiment Station in Ontario, Ore.

Registration will be from 8 to 9 a.m. with coffee and donuts. The tour will start at 9 a.m. and end at 12:20 p.m.

Pesticide re-certification credits will be offered (three for Idaho; two for Oregon). A complimentary lunch will be served at the conclusion of the tour.

The tour will feature weed management studies in direct-seeded onion, sugarbeet, field corn and potato. The first stop will be at the station’s yellow nutsedge field laboratory along Highway 201 just before crossing the railroad tracks (if headed north into Ontario). The stop along Hwy 201 will feature studies on yellow nutsedge control in onion and field corn. The tour will then proceed to the station and tour the studies on weed control in sugarbeet, potato and onion.
