PGI TO HOLD AUCTION / HONOR GROWERS

BLACKFOOT, Idaho-The Potato Growers of Idaho (PGI) annual Grower of the Year awards and fund-raising auction will take place Jan. 18 at the Red Lion Hotel in Pocatello. The event will be held in conjunction with the reception sponsored by Spectra Productions. The reception and silent auction begin at 5 p.m. A live auction will be conducted by Rexburg auctioneer, Gale Harding, starting at 6 p.m.

The Grower of the Year and Seed Grower of the Year awards will be presented by the Potato Grower Magazine immediately following the auction.  Randy and Karlene Hardy, from Oakley, are the recipients of the Grower of the Year award, and Dirk Parkinson, from Saint Anthony, will be honored with the Seed Grower of the Year award. The evening will conclude with a short PGI business meeting. Everyone associated with the Idaho Potato industry is invited to attend.

 

Funds raised in the auction will go to the Idaho Potato Industry Political Action Committee. The purpose of this committee is to help political candidates who are friendly to agriculture with their campaign costs. Donated items that will be auctioned include a scenic bi-plane ride, jet boat fishing trip, tractor rentals, crop protection products and much more. Door prizes will be given away throughout the evening.
