Irish crisps (potato chips) maker Tayto Ltd. plans to lay off 179 staff because of a consolidation of production.
Tayto will close the plant in Terenure in October. The plant has been in operation for 21 years. The closure will take 164 jobs. There will also be 15 layoffs at its crisps plant at Coolock.
Tayto will outsource production of its snack product to Largo Foods in Gweedore.
