TWIN FALLS, Idaho — Over a dozen specialty crop projects are receiving grants from the Idaho Department of Agriculture.
As part of its Specialty Crops Grant Program, 16 projects totaling $1.7 million will benefit. The Idaho potato industry received three of the grants.
The Idaho Potato Commission is getting $133,000 to help expand sales in international markets and $125,000 to help develop a russet potato that would be resistant to invasive pests.
The University of Idaho also received $83,000 to study the benefits of potato peel waste.
