Idaho's late blight situation is static at this time, according to University of Idaho seed potato specialist/pathologist Dr. Phil Nolte.

Nolte says the fact there have been no more findings is a good sign it could just be a minor problem for a few growers.

However, he cautions growers not to get too relaxed or take any chances with the disease and to protect  their crop with fungicide applications.

Idaho's weather patterns have been conducive to the spread of late blight. They meet the models developed by extension specialists that are used to warn growers.
