Potato Management Company with offices in Blackfoot, ID, has scheduled a meeting for Wednesday, May 7, at the Shilo Inn in Idaho Falls, ID.
The meeting notice says there is little time left if growers expect to influence the current and next year’s markets.
Notices were e-mailed to growers Friday. Recent storage reports and a sluggish market are the reasons for calling the meeting. In addition, there are already early indications that growers have over-planted for next year’s market.
The PMC is a cooperative of growers organized to create and promote more stability in potato markets.
The meeting will start at 7:30 p.m. in the Idaho Falls Room.
