The Prince Edward Island potato industry has recorded its history for posterity sake and to share with the public and the next generation of potato growers.
With funding from the sesquicentennial celebration PEI 2014 Fund, the Canadian Potato Museum and the PEI Potato Board hired journalist Ian Petrie to conduct video-recorded interviews of leading fresh market growers, exporters, seed certification pioneers, equipment manufacturers and processors.
The videos were edited to produce a 30-minute overview of the industry that can be viewed at the museum in O’Leary or online at YouTube.
A series of shorter videos that touch on individual subjects, such as specialized potato equipment, also can be viewed at the museum, on YouTube or the potato board’s website.
