ST PAUL, Minn.-Successful early generation seed production depends on very close monitoring for pests, diseases and variety mixtures.

The latest Focus on Potato presentation, titled "Early Generation Seed Potato Production" by Dr. Amy Charkowski, Associate Professor of Plant Pathology at the University of Wisconsin, will help users understand the fundamentals of early generation seed potato production from tissue culture to mini-tuber production.

By the end of the presentation, users will understand the process of producing a large crop of potato tubers from a single disease-tested tissue culture plantlet and should be able to use this knowledge to help evaluate the health of a seed potato crop.

This 14-minute presentation is open access through March 31, 2013, and can be viewed at www.plantmanagementnetwork.org/edcenter/seminars/Potato/EarlyGeneration.
