Proving that big things can come in small packages, Max Systems introduces Regulator 3.0 Concentrate, a low-pH surfactant that can be combined with water and other products in spray tank mixtures at extremely low rates. Like the previously introduced Regulator 2.0 product, the new concentrated version is used to lower, or regulate, the optimum pH of a wide range of tank mix solutions. However, instead of using two to four quarts of product per 100 gallons of water, Regulator 3.0 Concentrate can be used at an even lower rate of 12 to 16 ounces per acre.

Regulator 3.0 Concentrate is a carbon-based formula that contains high amounts of energy and oxygen that all plants need for maximizing sugar production. Consequently, Regulator 3.0 helps balance the pH of the tank mix while enhancing plant health. That, in turn, can help reduce the application amount or frequency of fungicide or pesticide applications. In effect, producers are trading dollars that are spent on chemicals for more effective chemical application and better plant and soil health.

Many products used in agriculture today are salt-based products, which can lead to a detrimental buildup of salt in the soil profile. The carbon that Regulator 3.0 uses as a carrier moves through the plant much easier than salts.

Perhaps the most important benefit of Regulator 3.0 Concentrate, though, is its ability to balance the pH in a tank mix. Many commonly used herbicides are susceptible to alkaline hydrolysis in an off-balance spray solution. This means that a measurable amount of herbicide decomposes to an inactive form in an alkaline solution. In addition, foliar absorption of a tank mix spray is pH-dependent, since pH affects the electrostatic attraction or repulsion characteristics of the plant cuticle. Unfortunately, water supplies in most areas have a pH level that ranges from 7.5 to 9, which is classified as slightly to strongly alkaline. Hence, producers who fail to balance the pH of the spray tank mix with a product like Regulator 3.0 are losing much of the effectiveness of the crop protection chemical.

Regulator 3.0 Concentrate can be applied to all field and row crops, fruit and nut trees, vegetables, berries and grapes, and may be foliar-applied by air or ground application equipment. Although it should not be mixed with fungicides, biocides and other products containing heavy metals, Regulator 3.0 can also be added to most fertilizer solutions and a number of herbicides
