The Big Idaho Potato Truck and Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) are holding a video contest looking for the country’s best potato recipes.

Applicants will have a chance to win up to $3,000 by sending a short video preparing their favorite potato recipe or simply hamming it up in front of the camera. The first 10 people to enter the contest online will receive a 15-pound box of Idaho potatoes.

The Big Idaho Potato Truck is the world’s largest potato on wheels. It was built to celebrate the Idaho Potato Commission’s 75th anniversary in 2012.

“For five years we’ve watched people’s reactions to the Big Idaho Potato Truck and we’ve seen pure joy, amazement, awe and millions of smiles,” said Frank Muir, president and CEO of the Idaho Potato Commission. “The Mish Mash video contest is designed to capture America’s fascination with the truck and their love for Idaho potatoes.”

The videos must not exceed three minutes. All videos need to be uploaded to a YouTube page and then submitted to the Big Idaho Potato Truck’s Facebook page.

One $1,000 prize will be awarded to the winner of the MASHED! category, and two $1,000 prizes will be awarded in the Mish Mash category—one for “Anytime/Anywhere” and one for “At the Truck.”

Applicants without a YouTube or Facebook account can email their videos to famousidahopotatoes@gmail.com. Included should be the respective applicant’s full name, mailing address and phone number.
