Nufarm ChampION++

Copper has been used to combat disease in high-value fruit and vegetable crops since the late 1880s, when the “Bordeaux mixture” of copper sulfate and lime was used in French vineyards to protect grapes from downy mildew. Copper fungicides have evolved over the decades but remain a key disease management tool for producers.

Nufarm announces the launch of ChampION++, a fungicide/bactericide that controls key fungal and other diseases in a wide range of high-value crops, including potatoes. ChampION++ is a new dry formulation of copper that features consistently smaller particles and other unique formulation attributes to provide more thorough coverage—and thus better disease control—with less environmental loading.

The cupric ion (Cu++) is the active part of the molecule, and it works by attacking the bacteria or fungi where it disrupts enzyme processes. Because copper is not systemic and doesn’t redistribute after application, complete coverage of the leaf surface is essential for good disease control. The smaller particle size that ChampION++ provides means more complete coverage, which results in more copper ions available to be absorbed into the plant tissue. This improved absorption, in turn, provides more effective disease control.

ChampION++ has the smallest average particle size of any dry copper formulation. The average particle size of the ChampION++ product is about three to four times smaller than the average particle size of competitive products.

The smaller particle size has another important benefit: It means that producers can apply a significantly lower rate of copper but still get effective disease control. Compared to older copper formulations, researchers are applying about half of rate of copper per acre with ChampION++. But because of the smaller particle size and superior absorption with ChampION++, equivalent or better disease control has been accomplished, even at this much lower rate of copper.

DDS 300 Back Brace

The World’s Best Back Brace, the DDS 300 Spinal-Air Decompression brace, uses patented Vertical Air Pressure (VAP) technology to decompress the lower spine which allows bulging or herniated discs to return to their natural habitats within the intervertebral disc space where they can reassume their normal shape as they rehydrate and begin to heal. It provides real, lasting, all-natural relief from the cause of lower back sciatica pain.

Over time or due to injury, our discs, which act as our spine’s shock absorbers, can become compromised. Due to prolonged effects of gravity or blunt trauma force, the jelly-like nucleus of the disc can push against the disc wall, causing it to bulge or even burst, resulting in a disc herniation. Both a bulge and herniation mean the disc material has been pushed out of its natural space and into surrounding territory where sensitive connective tissue and nerves reside. When a nerve gets irritated or pinched, the resulting pain can be excruciating.

Fortunately there is a proven, all natural solution to reversing this process called decompression. As the word suggests, decompression is the act of decompressing the spine and is accomplished by wearing the DDS 300 decompression brace which, when adorned, is inflated via hand air pump. As it inflates the brace expands from 4 to 7 inches in height as the vertical air chambers fill with air. The result is a gentle yet powerful stretching of the lower spine. The brace sits on the hips as its foundation, pushing downward, and anchors up under the lower rib cage, gently pushing upward.

Celox-P XT Optical Grader

Ag-Pak introduces its Celox-P XT optical grader and sizer with modular outlets. The machine combines quality grading and sizing accuracy with gentle product handling and tremendous flexibility.

The camera section uses a patented roller-vibrating system that rotates the potatoes as it vibrates them forward, thereby exposing the potato’s entire surface to the cameras for an extended period of time. The XT version uses new, faster cameras with a new tracking system that tracks each potato all the way to the fingers of the outlet system. These features result in exceptional quality grading and sizing accuracy.

In one pass under the camera section, the Celox captures the surface condition and dimensions of each potato and then seamlessly transfers them onto the fingers of its “spinaflex” belts. When the potato is above the desired outlet belt the fingers drop to release the potato onto the correct belt. Therefore with one pass through the camera section and one gentle drop, the machine sorts potatoes by quality, length, diameter, volume or any combination of these as input by the user.

The machine comes with anywhere from three to 13 outlets belts, and with the new design each outlet belt is a separate module. Therefore adding an additional outlet to an existing machine is no problem, which provides tremendous flexibility to the user.

Bobcat 5600, 5610 Toolcat

Bobcat Company has released the Tier 4-compliant 5600 and 5610 Toolcat utility work machines that incorporate a non-diesel particulate filter (DPF) engine solution. These machines also feature a traction control system designed to provide operators with better mobility when ground conditions are conducive to traction loss, or the machines’ wheels encounter obstructions, such as rocks or debris. A new illuminated rocker switch located on the dash of the 5600 and 5610 utility work machines allows operators to turn the traction control system on or off as needed.

The traction control feature is integrated with the machines’ electronics, which allows it to sense speed differentials that typically occur when wheels experience traction loss due to soft ground, snow and ice, or terrain that causes a wheel to lose contact with the ground. Once engaged, as an operator holds a constant low-range speed, the system transfers torque to the wheels with the highest traction. The traction control feature is an option on the 5600 model and is a standard configuration on the 5610 model.

In addition to eliminating the need for a DPF, the new engines used in the 5600 and 5610 Toolcat utility work machines have a 12 percent increase in torque. This increase in torque is produced over a wide range of engine rpm, allowing operators of all skill levels to better utilize the machines’ maximum performance.

The versatile 61-horsepower 5600 and 5610 Toolcat utility work machines combine the most productive features of a pickup truck, tractor, skid-steer loader and utility vehicle. Both machines are compatible with more than 40 approved front-mounted attachments for dozens of jobs, from snow removal to sweeping to installing fences. The 5610 allows operators to use front-mounted attachments, as well as PTO and rear remote hydraulics to power Category 1, 3-point hitch implements or attachments. These capabilities increase the functionality of a Toolcat machine, and help create a high level of utilization on college campuses, parks, airports, farms, acreages and a variety of other applications.
