What have you been up to lately?

Well, I’m actually in meetings in Boise all this week.

You said you were in meetings all last week too, right?

Yeah, I was. It never ends, man. There’s a lot to learn. There’s always something new coming out.

How’s the family?

They’re doing good. My little boy Briggs is just over a year old now. It goes by fast. He’s getting big. He’s walking around and he’s found a lot of energy lately; he’s bouncing off the walls. It’s pretty fun to watch. My wife Heather gets to stay home with him, so that’s been good.

Have you gotten into the mountains on your snowmobile yet this year?

No, haven’t been able to do anything. I actually sold my sled last year, so I haven’t been able to get up on the snow and do anything this year.

What do you listen to in the pickup when you’re driving around?

Lately it’s been Dave Ramsey. I stay away from the talk radio; it gets depressing.

Do you follow sports very closely?

No, not too much.

That’s probably a healthier way to live than us diehard fans.

Yeah, I guess so, but it really makes me kind of boring. I guess what I focus on is going to a lot of meetings in the winter and then trying to work hard in the spring and summer.

Did you grow up on a farm?

No, I didn’t. My dad was actually a crop advisor over in Middleton [Idaho] when I was growing up. I worked for one of his growers all through high school, and that’s my little bit of farm experience. But I got into the agronomy and really liked it, and that’s where I am now.
