The USPB held an International Chip-stock Symposium on September 11 in Minneapolis, Minn. The Symposium included Central American snack manufacturers and U.S. growers and industry members. The program was very informative for both the Central American participants and the U.S. growers and shippers, with good questions and discussions following all presentations.

Participants were very interested in learning about
U.S. chip-stock varieties and enjoyed seeing harvest firsthand. The group visited the USPB Snack Food Trials during harvest and received a firsthand look at new and promising varieties developed by NDSU. On the last day of the visit, the group toured the USDA/ARS East Grand Forks Research Center and traveled to Fargo, N.D. to learn about North Dakota State University's breeding program.
