IDAHO FALLS, Idaho-Mr. Mark Klompien joins the Idaho Grower Shippers Association as President of the organization, replacing Travis Blacker, who was recently hired at the Idaho Potato Commission's Idaho Falls office as the Industry Relations Director.

 

Before joining the Association, Klompien was most recently the Vice President of Supply Chain Management at Idahoan Foods. Prior to his time at Idahoan, he spent 18 years at Basic American Foods and 5 years at Lamb Weston, Inc. During his tenure with Basic American Foods, Mr. Klompien held a number of positions in engineering, operations, raw material, supply chain and most recently as Vice President of Procurement and Government Relations.

 

Mark has served as Chairman of the Potato Executive Committee for the Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry and also served as a Board Member and Executive Committee Vice-Chair of IACI. He also serves on the College of Agriculture Advisory Board for the University of Idaho as well as serving as a Board Member for the Northwest Food Processors Association. Mark obtained his Professional Engineer's license in 1995.

 

Mr. Klompien holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering from Montana State University and also completed the Stanford Graduate School of Business Executive Program. He and his wife, Valerie, make their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They have two sons: Derek, who is a recent graduate of the University of Idaho, and Dalin, who is currently attending the University of Idaho.
