USPB: EXPORTS REACH RECORD LEVELS

U.S. exports of potatoes and products for the July 2011-June 2012 marketing year for all of the products promoted by the USPB reached record levels in both volume and value.

Exports of frozen potato products were up 17 percent by volume to 905,941 metric tons (33 million cwt fresh weight equivalent [FWE]) and 22 percent by value to $989 million. Dehydrated potato product exports increased 9 percent in volume to 117,259 MT (15 million cwt, FWE) and 11 percent in value to $193 million. Fresh potato exports, which includes both table-stock and chip-stock, increased 2 percent in volume to 407,114 MT (9 million cwt) and 10 percent in value to $204 million.
