iPhonePLYMOUTH, Minn.-The Mosaic Company recently launched the Nutrient Removal App as part of its on-going commitment to provide next-generation growers and retailers with innovative tools. The free app, available on smartphones and mobile tablets, makes nutrient removal data readily available in the office, field or tractor. The app serves as a new tool for growers as they partner with their local agronomist to plan for next year's planting season and crop nutrient programs.

Utilizing years of agronomic research, the nutrient removal data seen in the "Balanced Crop Nutrition" guide created last season and available on Back-to-Basics.net, provides growers and retailers with a valuable reference tool in support of higher yields. The app allows users to customize their nutrient removal data to generate crop- and region-specific results.

The importance of fertility in maximizing yield cannot be underestimated. According to the International Plant Nutrient Institute, best management practices suggest that 40 percent of yield can be attributed to the 4 R's-applying the Right Fertilizer, in the Right Amount, at the Right Time, to the Right Place. By using the app, growers will be able to test potential yields and formulate the right plan for their own nutrient applications.

iPadOnce it's downloaded, the Nutrient Removal App can be used without internet service, and contains customizable data for 36 different crops. After the crop and desired yield are selected, results can be stored as part of an individual profile, and/or emailed to other contacts. Users can find the Nutrient Removal App at both the Apple App Store and the Android Market.
