The article "No Room for Complacency on CIPC Levels" that recently appeared on the Potato Grower magazine webpage paints an incorrect and confusing picture regarding CIPC residues on stored potatoes. This article has the potential to create a negative and incorrect (within the context of the U.S. potato industry) perception of CIPC use.

It is unclear to the reader that the article is from the U.K. or that it deals specifically with CIPC residues in the U.K. The U.K. potato industry utilizes different CIPC application techniques, different CIPC application rates and has established different maximum residue levels (MRL) from those in the U.S. and other countries.
As such, the article does not adequately place the discussion and information in the appropriate context and may cause unnecessary confusion and concern among a U.S.-based audience.
