A Danish potato growers organization (Dansk Kartoffelproducent-forening) was fined for fixing the price of potatoes.
In 2009 the Danish potato grower organization called a meeting in 2009 and asked its members to leave the potatoes in the ground.
The Potato association was fined 500.000 DKK (about $90,000 U.S. dollars).
Also the former president of the potato growers organization, Birger Jensen, was personally fined 25,000 DKK (about $4,600 U.S. dollars). This is because he represented the organisation and repeated the call to limit the potato supply in the media several times.
