Washington potato growers have voted in favor of continuing their federal marketing order program.

The USDA said 80 percent of growers representing 52 percent of participating volume voted in favor of the marketing order.

The continuance referendum is held every six years, according to the Sept. 9 USDA news release. The marketing order authorizes the establishment of minimum grade, size, quality, maturity, pack, container and labeling requirements for the state's potatoes.
