SYNGENTA TO HOLD MANNAPACK EVENT THIS WEEKEND

GREENSBORO, N.C.-Continuing its commitment to helping ensure global food security, Syngenta will sponsor a two-day, potato-meal packing event to help feed thousands of hungry children.
More than 500 Syngenta employees, their families and friends, and FFA students will gather at Syngenta in Greensboro Friday, March 18, and Saturday, March 19, to pack 175,000 servings of Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) MannaPack Potato meals in celebration of National Ag Week. MannaPack Potato servings are formulated to prevent starvation in children using dehydrated potatoes, vitamins and minerals.
World Food Prize Ambassador Ken Quinn and former FFA national officers Chase Rose and Laila Hajji will join representatives of the USPB and potato growers to show their support and participate in the two-day event.
"At Syngenta, our mission is to alleviate world hunger by bringing plant potential to life," said Mary Streett DeMers, senior communications manager, Marketing Services, Syngenta. "We also understand the nutritional value of the potato-based meals and the incredible need malnourished children have for these packets. We are so pleased our local FFA chapters and the USPB are able to come together with our employees and their families during National Ag Week for this great cause."
Each year, producers, agricultural associations, corporations, universities and government agencies gather together during National Ag Week to celebrate the abundance of agriculture. The two-day MannaPack event will bring Syngenta together with industry partners in the spirit of agriculture's contribution to our everyday lives and also to help those less fortunate.

Their efforts will directly help thousands of children who would otherwise continue to go hungry or even die."
In addition to providing assistance to the world's hungry through the FMSC packing event, Syngenta contributes to the potato industry through quality products such as Endigo ZC insecticide, Quadris Top fungicide and Revus Top fungicide.
