Terrell's Potato Chip Company founder William F. Terrell, died July 21 in Sebring, Fla., at age 98.
He founded the company in 1961 in Syracuse, N.Y., and had lived in Florida since retiring from the potato chip company in 1976.
Son Jim Terrell succeeded his father as owner and president of the company.
In 1961, William bought a used potato-chip cooker he found in Pennsylvania and began making his own potato chips. In 1970, he bought a competitor, Crispy Maid Potato Chips.
