Humpty Dumpty To Close Brampton Plant

Kitchener, Ontario-based Humpty Dumpty Snack Foods Inc.said it will close its plant in Brampton, Ontario, likely in the second quarter next year.

The maker of potato chips and other snack foods said the closure was planned as part of strategic initiative to realign manufacturing capacity.

The snack food manufacturer said it will consolidate it production to its facilities in Quebec and Atlantic Canada, subject to finalizing negotiations with the provincial governments.

The company now operates four manufacturing facilities in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

HD said it has been seeking ways to reduce excess capacity within its manufacturing facilities and the restructuring was the result of an intensive analysis of the company's production resources.
