Potato Growers of Idaho Executive Director Keith Esplin announced that the dates for the annual meeting have been moved up three weeks to November 15-16.
The two-day event will be held at the Red Lion Hotel in Pocatello, ID.
Esplin said that because the group's annual December dates always seems to fall on the dates of other industry meetings, the decision was made by the board of directors to move the meeting into November.
The before-Thanksgiving meeting will have the same format as in recent years with allied Idaho industry groups meeting conjointly. While at least two grower co-ops are expected to meet on those dates, it was uncertain in late August if United Potato Growers of Idaho will meet in conjunction with the PGI meeting as well..
Esplin said PGI will give United of Idaho an invitation to meet in conjunction with PGI because there are many overlapping issues that growers can discuss if both groups meet at the same time.
