Idaho Harvest At 15 Percent Mark

Idaho's 2004 potato harvest is nearing the 15 percent mark, just a little over average for this date.

Southwest Idaho is over the 60 percent mark, south central and eastern Idaho are over the 10 percent point.

The crop is described to be 84 percent good to excellent and 11 percent fair, according to the Idaho Agricultural Statistics Service.

Topsoil moisture was described as 49 percent short to very short and 50 percent adequate.  Irrigation water supplies were listed as 41 percent poor to very poor and 59 percent fair to good.
