DuPont of Wilmington, DE, announced today it has acquired Griffin Corporation's interest in Griffin LLC, thereby becoming the sole owner.
While financial terms were not disclosed, the purchase will enable DuPont Crop Protection to provide its customers with a broader product portfolio in key segments, including cotton, fruit, vegetable and professional products.
Griffin LLC's product lines will complement the existing crop protection business. Griffin LLC has five manufacturing sites in North and South America. Griffin LLC was formed in 1998.
James C. Borel, president DuPont Crop Protection, said purchasing Griffin Corporation's equity interest in Griffin LLC will provide opportunities for profitable top line growth.
He said the action is consistent with the company's objective to grow specialty markets business globally. The additions to DuPont's portfolio will better allow DuPont to serve its customers
DuPont, a science company, was founded in 1802. It is now operating in 70 countries.
