Gowan Company of Yuma, AZ, announced it has agreed to acquire Syngenta's Eptam and Eradicane herbicide business in the United States and Canada.

The acquisition will include all assets, as well as registrations and trade names of Eptam and Eradicane product lines in the two countries. Terms were not disclosed.

Eptam and Eradicane have long been important tools to growers throughout North America. Eptam provides selective, pre-emergent control of many grasses and broadleaf weeds in crops such as potatoes, dry beans, alfalfa, peas, snap beans and sugarbeets.

Eradicane provides the same activity with added safety in field, pop, silage and sweet corn.

Each provides a good foundation to an herbicide program through pre-emergent control of certain troublesome weeds.
