>Marketing of the 2002 potato crop by the 12 major producing states, showed that only Idaho, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Oregon, Wisconsin, and Washington provided potatoes for all months of the year.

However, of the 12 majors, all can provide potatoes for at least nine months of the year.

Many cannot hold potatoes long enough for availability in July and August. Most of the 12 sell percentages of their crop throughout the year in average increments of 8 to 11 percent per month, according to just released USDA/NASS figures.
