World Potato Congress, postponed because of the virus epidemic last year, has been re-scheduled for March 24-30, 2004.

The meeting is still slated for Kunming, China, a southern province.

Jessie Yu, chairman of the host committee, confirmed the dates with Lloyd Palmer, president of the Congress, on September 2.

The meeting is scheduled to proceed as it was outlined last year, with a pre-Congress tour scheduled. Registration and set-up will take place March 24-25.

A WPC golf classic on one of Kunming's modern golf courses is scheduled for March 25. The opening reception is that evening.

The sessions and trade and technology show will begin on March 26 and run through March 28. On March 29 visits are scheduled to see Chinese potato varieties and the Minority Village.

A closing reception, dinner with entertainment will be the evening of March 29. Agriculture tours will be hosted on March 30. After March 30, post-Congress tours are planned.

The next Congress is scheduled for Boise, ID, in 1996.
