Idaho's 2003 potato crop is doing well with 81 percent of the crop closing middles by July 13.
This compares to 60 percent last year and a state average of 50 percent. In addition, 98 percent of the crop is 12 inches high, compared to 94 percent last year and 86 percent as a state average.
Condition of the crop, according to the Idaho Agricultural Statistics Service, is 95 percent good to excellent and 5 percent fair to poor.
The irrigation water supply was listed as 36 percent good to excellent and 64 percent fair to very poor.
