Potato losses in southern Alberta, Canada’s, potato-growing region will total about 3,500 acres, revised downward.

At first it was feared growers of the province had lost up to 6,000 to 7,000 acres. As of mid-November, the numbers had changed.

The area met with heavy rains late in the season that soaked fields and made harvest difficult. Most of the potatoes, destined for processing, were finally dug after fields dried.
