Woods Equipment Company of Oregon, IL, has sold its Alloway line of beet harvesters, defoliators and cultivators to a group of local investors.

The new group name will be Alloway/Standard Inc. The new Alloway will assume all responsibility for the manufacture, service and distribution for these Alloway products.

“The Alloway line is a strong complement to our existing businesses and manufacturing capabilities,” said Jim Lepine, representative of the owners. “We are eager to begin serving these customers and to build on the strong reputation of the Alloway brand.”

The purchase does not include the Alloway line of flail shredders and snow blowers, which are being manufactured at other Woods facilities. Woods will retain the right to use the Alloway name in marketing its flail shredders for five years.

Standard Industries Inc. is a custom engineering and metal fabrication company with headquarters in Fargo, ND. It has been in business for more than 55 years.
