Canadian businessmen are continuing to foster trade relationships in Russia, with Prince Edward Island's potato industry having a major hand.

PEI has sent potato seed and potato equipment to Troika International. The 450-acre potato farm is about 60 miles from Moscow.

PEI premier Pat Binns says Russia's economy has made a lot of progress in just the last few years. He says there is a real buzz around Moscow with new things happening everywhere you look.

Canadian companies have signed up $ 1 billion in trade. He noted there were 70 McDonald's restaurants in Moscow alone-with a hunger for more french fry sales.
