The American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture has released three new books and two new videos to complement its updated My American Farm game, My Little Ag Me. These supporting resources focus on the many careers available in agriculture.

“This new series of My American Farm books does a great job of teaching schoolkids more about agriculture and a variety of ag-related careers—from dairy farmer to plant scientist to ag journalist,” said American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall. “Each book introduces students to ag terms and shows them different types of agriculture and related careers,” he added. The three books are geared toward a fifth-grade audience and are titled “The Vibrant Variety,” “The Artistic Arrangement” and “The Cow Conundrum.” A special code at the end of the books unlocks a secret level of the My Little Ag Me game.

In addition to the books, two videos highlight a host of careers in agriculture ranging from information technology programmer to mechanical engineer.

“The videos explain how those involved in agriculture are taking a proactive approach to solving agricultural challenges like producing more food with fewer resources,” said Christy Lilja, executive director of the Foundation. “We believe that after students watch these videos, they will better understand that no matter what their interest is, there is a career in agriculture for them.”
