Washington Farmers and Ranchers and North by Northwest Productions were honored this year with the presentation of a Silver Telly Award for their television show Washington Grown. The work was recognized in the information category of the Telly’s film/video work competition.

The Telly Awards is a widely known and highly respected national and international competition and receives nearly 12,000 entries annually from all 50 states and numerous countries. The Silver Telly is the highest level awarded in the competition.

“Our objective is to not only educate consumers about agriculture with Washington Grown, but to make it entertaining and engaging for the viewer as well,” said Karla Salp, executive director of Washington Farmers and Ranchers. “Through our partnership with North by Northwest, we are achieving that goal. It’s exciting to see that excellence acknowledged by the industry.”

“We are thrilled that Washington Grown has been recognized by our creative peers in the industry, and that this collaboration with Washington Farmers and Ranchers has been so successful in its second season,” said the show’s executive producer, David Tanner of North by Northwest.

Since 1978, the Telly Awards have been honoring the very best local, regional and cable television commercials and programs as well as the finest video and film productions. Their mission is to strengthen the visual arts community by inspiring, promoting, and supporting creativity. Today, the Telly is one of the most sought after awards by industry leaders, from large international firms to local production companies and ad agencies.

“The Telly Council, our judging and oversight body, is comprised of top industry professionals that are past winners of a Silver Telly, our highest honor,” says Linda Day, executive director of the Telly Awards. “It is a remarkable achievement to be selected for recognition.”
