A webcast, titled “Sulphur Enhances Plant Nutrient Use Efficiency,” will take place Aug. 26 at 2 p.m. Eastern. Wesley Haun, agronomist for H.J. Baker’s crop performance division, and Martin Campfield, H.J. Baker Pan Asia sales director, will present information on how different nutrients affect plants’ uptake of other nutrients.

Research reports have demonstrated that some plant nutrients influence the uptake of other plant nutrients, and soil fertility management can contribute as much as 30 to 50 percent toward crop yield response.

Sulphur is one nutrient that enhances the plant’s ability to absorb macronutrients and micronutrients. An understanding of these interactions provides information for more informed nutrient management decisions. Including Tiger sulphur products in a nutrient management program enhances crop utilization of other plant nutrients and promotes positive environmental stewardship.

Fertilizer applications that coincide with plant nutrient uptake will enhance nutrient use efficiency and potential crop response. Fall application of Tiger 90CR and Tiger XP fits into the 4R plant nutrient management strategy of right source, right rate, right place and right time. Tiger Sulphur delivers highest nutrient content of any fertilizer.

Chemical retailers, agronomists, crop consultants, university researchers and growers should all plan to attend this webcast.

The following will be discussed:

  • Sulphur’s role in nutrient management
  • How sulphur enhances uptake and utilization of other nutrients
  • Optimization of soil nutrient potential with 4R best management practices
  • Benefits of fall application of sulphur
  • Economics of Tiger-Sul products
